FAQS

  • Are there any guidelines for the presentation?

We prefer a presentation in Powerpoint format at 16:9 scale.

The title slide must have either the Conference logo or the conference name in full exactly as written here: “Passive House Canada Conference 2026”. The logo files can be obtained from our media kit.

  • Can I present virtually?

We prefer to have all speakers at the Conference in-person, as it provides a better attendee experience. However we know that circumstances can arrive where that is not always possible. So we do allow virtual presentations when necessary, but you must contact our events@passivehousecanada.com email to discuss.

  • Do I need to submit my presentation in advance?

We do not need you to show us your presentation beforehand.

You must bring your presentation on a USB to the conference and check in with the AV team in the Speaker Ready Room (called the “Gilbert Room”) 30 minutes before your presentation time to ensure that there are no technical difficulties. Having a backup of the presentation available on a personal laptop

The provided laptop has a Windows OS, so when bringing your presentation with you on a USB, please make sure its compatible.

  • Do I need to leave time for questions at the end?

Yes. In the time slot allotted, you will need to plan your time accordingly. There is usually a couple minutes for our moderator to greet everyone and introduce you at the beginning. Around 10-15 minutes at the end of a 1 hour presentation is recommended for Q&A. Which means a 1 hour presentation time slot should feature a presentation portion that is approx. 45 minutes long.

  • Is there a preferred file format for the presentation?

We prefer a powerpoint presentation .pptx in 16:9 scale. We find that it makes it easier for the presenter to advance slides as they’re speaking.

The provided laptop has a Windows OS, so when bringing your presentation with you on a USB, please make sure its compatible.

  • What time am I speaking?

You’ll find the exact time, date, and room # of your session in your speaker agreement .pdf that was emailed to you.

  • Where do I go when I arrive?

You’ll need to get your name badge from the Registration Desk outside the “Britannia Ballroom” when you arrive.

30 minutes prior to your session, you’ll need to meet with our AV team in the Speaker Ready Room called the “Gilbert Room”.
