What You Need To Know For This Year’s Event

Passive House Canada cares strongly about our network of exhibitors, colleagues and industry communities. It is our top priority to ensure our events will be organized in accordance with official government and local authority guidelines, as well as any venue or location specific regulations. We aim to deliver the highest levels of hygiene and safety at our events, in order to provide our community reassurance and confidence that they are participating in a safe environment.

Please note that all restrictions and requirements are subject to change at any time to best protect the health and safety of all of its audiences in accordance with government guidelines and legal allowances. Please refer back to this page often for current guidelines.


Venue Health & Safety Protocols

As we move towards bringing live events back to our conference at Inn at Laurel Point, our highest priority is the safety of every attendees and member of our team. We have put in place a number of measures in compliance with orders from the Government of British Columbia, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Return To Live Conferences
Beginning March 1, 2022, in-person events will be permitted up to 100% capacity and there is no general requirement for attendees to have received full COVID-19 vaccination.

Vaccinations
There is no Provincial Health Officer order requiring events, services or businesses to check proof of vaccination.

Masks
Wearing masks in public indoor settings is not required by public health. Wearing a mask is a personal choice. Masks are encouraged indoors, but not required. It’s important that we respect the choices of people, businesses and one another.

Cashless Venue
The Passive House Canada Conference is a cash-free event that only accepts credit cards, for a safe and speedy check out. We no longer accept cash.

Physical Distancing
Please maintain a physical distance of 2 meters when possible including in queues inside and outside of the venue.

Venue Cleaning
Enhanced protocols have been instituted throughout the entire venue. Before and after each sessions, high touch areas including seats, handrails, concessions stands, restrooms, and merchandise stands, will be disinfected. Hand sanitizing dispensers will be located prominently throughout the venue.

If you feel sick, please stay home. Know the symptoms of COVID-19 and review the symptoms listed below.

Health & Safety Acknowledgement

Please note that while the Passive House Canada Conference continues to adhere to health and safety guidelines to keep you safe, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By being in public space like the Passive House Canada Conference, you voluntarily assume the risks related to exposure and agree that you will assume all responsibilities for any risk of bodily harm, disease, or loss of property sustained while attending this event and waives all right to lay claim for a refund or damages resulting from any cause whatsoever either before, during or after the event.

By entering the event, you must confirm in accordance with applicable health guidelines that you are not currently experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19, such as:

  • Fever (temperature of 37.8°C/100.0°F or greater) and/or chills
  • Cough (new or worsening)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Decrease or loss of taste or smell
  • Fatigue, lethargy, malaise and/or myalgias
  • Prior to attending you are not under any self-quarantine orders

Out of respect for our community please do not enter the in-person Passive House Canada Conference if you cannot confirm all of the above criteria. If at any point during your time at the event you do not meet all of the above criteria, you may be asked to leave at the sole discretion of management.
